COAST GUARD ASSISTS EPA
AT CYANIDE REMOVAL

Two members of the Coast Guard's Pacific Strike Team are assisting the Environmental Protection agency Tuesday with cleanup operations at a former metal plating shop in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Strike Team members are providing site safety and contractor monitoring as abandoned chemicals such as cyanide are removed from the site.  The members would act as emergency medical technicians for workers in hazardous material protection suits.
